Jesse Jackson To Address Venezuela's National Assembly And Afro-Venezuelan Groups

Reverend Jesse Jackson has been invited to address Venezuela's National Assembly (AN) this coming Sunday to mark the anniversary of the assassination of US civil rights leader, Martin Luther King.

Speaking in Washington, Jackson has called on the US organs to investigate Reverend Pat Robertson's call to assassinate Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez Frias.

In the presence of Venezuelan Consul in Chicago, Martin Sanchez and local religious leaders, Jackson says the USA has a obscure past in the assassination of political leaders in Latin America, Africa and other parts of the world ... "after the Chile scandals, assassination of political leaders was banned."

Returning to Pastor Robertson, Jackson recalls that he has never denounced racial injustices and is a " wolf in sheep's clothing," supporting Mobutu in Zaire and the regime in Sierra Leone.

"While the USA is attempting to manufacture democracy in Iraq, it is bent on destroying democracy in Venezuela."

The Federal Communications Commission (FCC) should investigate Robertson for his commentaries  ... "It launched an investigation when Janet Jackson showed part of her breast a couple of months ago ... this is more serious."

Consul Sanchez has thanked Jackson and many US citizens for their show of solidarity with Venezuela and insists that Pat Robertson is not just an ordinary citizen as US State Department sources claim.

During his 3-day trip to Venezuela commencing on Saturday, Jackson expects to meet up with Venezuelan religious leaders and Afro-Venezuelan organization representatives.
