President of Zimbabwe Compares Bush to Hitler

Harare, Oct 17 (Prensa Latina) President of Zimbabwe Robert Mugabe compared US President George W. Bush to Adolf Hitler on Monday during a meeting to mark the 60th anniversary of the UN Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) in Rome.

At the gathering reported by local media, Mugabe also compared British Prime Minister Tony Blair to Italian Fascist dictator Benito Mussolini.

Bush and Blair are the terrible people of our millennium and they formed an alliance to attack innocent countries, the African leader reportedly declared.

Regarding Iraq, an Arab nation invaded by the US and Britain in March 2003, Mugabe said the Iraqi people have the right to choose their leadership.

The 81-year-old African was himself the target of frequent accusations by Washington and London, which decreed sanctions against Harare, in violation of the principles of international law, according to legal experts.

The campaign against his Sub-Saharan African country stems from a profound land reform that Mugabe and his working team have been implementing.

Giving plots of land to farmers was one of the commitments of Zimbabwe's leadership in the 80s. The measure was opposed by white farmers, who owned the country's best arable lands.
